Duncan Griffin Warren, 82, of Williams SC, passed away peacefully in the early morning of July 4, 2024.  He was born in Ruffin on June 7, 1942, to the late Russell Duncan Warren and Laura Griffin Warren. Duncan was a proud man known for the love of his family and the Town of Williams. He was actively involved in the community.  He served as the mayor of Williams and was a volunteer fire fighter for many years.  Also, he oversaw the care taking of the Williams Cemetery. Duncan was an avid reader reading 1000’s of books. He loved family history and genealogy.  In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time at Edisto Beach and traveling.  He had a passion for traveling around the world enjoying new experiences.  As he aged, he found joy in watering his plants.  Also, he liked watching high school sports.  Duncan graduated from Jacksonville University and pursued a masters degree at East Carolina University.  He started Academy Homes early in his career but later worked at Warren Building Supply.   Duncan is survived by his wife Emily Bridges Warren of 54 years, his children Emily Warren Harter (Stephen) and Griffin Bridges Warren (Ginny), his grandchildren Langley Harter and Ellis Warren and his siblings Carey Warren Speaks and Richard Lane Warren. Also, he is survived by his longtime friend, childhood babysitter and adult sitter Marie Hayes who was like a sister to him. In addition to his parents, Duncan was preceded in death by his brother Charles Russell Warren. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 3:00pm at the Williams United Methodist Church in Williams, SC.  Visitation will be after the service.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home in Walterboro, SC is assisting with the arrangements.
