hagan Gooding, 86, of Ruffin, entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, August 18, 2024, at her daughter’s residence.  She was the wife of the late C.H. Gooding, to whom she was married 59 years. Born September 10, 1937, in Smoaks, she was a daughter of the late George Russell Gohagan and Reba Carter Gohagan.  She was a retired clerk of 27 years for the United States Postal Service.  Joyce as a member of Bethel Methodist Church in Ruffin.  She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, working with her plants and flowers, and watching wrestling.  Most of all, she loved her God, her family, her church, the “Ladies’ Teas” at church, and her friends. Surviving are: her children, Teresa G. DeLoach and her husband Stephen, and Charles H. Gooding, Jr.; grandchildren, Matthew S. DeLoach (Lauren), Justin E. DeLoach (Christina), Henry Gooding, Emily Gooding (Hayden); great grandchildren, Elton DeLoach, Oliver Rivera, and Orion Schmitt; and a brother, Earl Shelley.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, George Gohagan, Dennis Gohagan, Gene Ronald Gohagan, and Sarah Ukleya. Memorial contributions may be made to: Bethel Methodist Church, care of Jan Ulmer, 437 Spencer Drive, Ruffin, South Carolina 29475. Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock, Thursday morning, August 22, 2024, at Bethel Methodist Church, 16147 Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 10 o’clock until the hour of service in the church sanctuary. Arrangements By: The Brice W.
