SMOAKS:     Mrs. Frances T. McMillan, wife of the late Charles William “Billy” McMillan, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, July 13, 2024 at her home in Smoaks under hospice care, with her family by her side.  She was 80.   Mrs. McMillan was born in Walterboro December 4, 1943 a daughter of the late Newton Carlisle “N.C.” Till and Margaret Hayden Till.  She attended Columbia College and later worked as a seamstress for Smoaks Manufacturing.  She was a member of the Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church of Walterboro.  Mrs. McMillan loved her cats, enjoyed watching her backyard birds, and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son Chuck McMillan (Dawn), and by five grandchildren:  Brooke McAlhaney (Jonathan), Roy McMillan (Grace), Rebekah Galbraith (Joseph), Collin Bryan, and Charlee McMillan.  There are six great-grandchildren and a host of extended family.  In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Hayden Till. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday morning, July 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Smoaks Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
