Mr. Bobby Lewis Hiott, 84, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest on Thursday morning, July 4, 2024, at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital while vacationing with his family. He was the husband of the late Emma Jean Pellum Hiott to whom he was married 56 years.

Born June 26, 1940, in Walterboro, he was the son of the late James Frederick Hiott, Sr. and Nellie Headden Hiott. Bobby was the second-generation owner and operator of Hiott’s Recycling in Walterboro for almost 50 years. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army and then served in the South Carolina Army National Guard. He attended Great Swamp Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and South Carolina Gamecock fan and loved traveling. He was a Master Mason, having been a member of Unity Lodge No. 55 and was also a longtime member of Walterboro Elks Lodge No. 1988. Most of all, Bobby loved his family and spending time with them. He supported his boys and his grandchildren in anything they did and could often be found at any CPA event they were participating in.

Surviving are: his sons, Scott Hiott and his wife Tamara and Brandon Hiott and his wife Samantha, all of Walterboro; grandchildren, Sadie Hiott, Emma Victoria “Evie” Hiott, and Madelyn Jean “Maddie” Hiott; and sister, Frances Hiott Carter and her husband Tommy of Walterboro. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Betsy Jones and Paula Stanfill.

Funeral services were held 3 o’clock, Monday afternoon, July 8, 2024, at Great Swamp Baptist Church, Walterboro. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
