Mr. Randall Burke Cook, known by all as “Randy”, age 58, of Adams Run, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, July 30, 2024, at the Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Administration Hospital in Charleston. Born February 2, 1966, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was a son of Mrs. Janice Moore Cook and the late Mr. Burke Cook.  Randy served our country faithfully in the United States Air Force as a Captain.  He received his Master’s in Statistics from the University of Northern Colorado and was a mathematics educator having taught levels from middle school through college, primarily focusing on college education. He was a lifelong member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Adams Run, where he had served as a Deacon and was formerly a Sunday School teacher.  Randy will always be remembered for his love of Gamecock football as well as running, hiking, fishing and playing countless hours of chess. Surviving in addition to his mother of Adams Run are: his wife of nineteen years, Mrs. Laura Jane Cook; two children, Zachary Cook (Kaelie Giffel) of Montana and Katie Ploth-Olsen (Joshua) of North Charleston; two sisters, Diane Bull of Holly Hill and Amy Waddell of Ridgeville; and his father and mother-in-law, Daniel S. Gross, Jr. and Sylvia Gross of Moncks Corner. Memorials may be directed in his memory to the following: Huntington’s Disease Society of America; or to Gideons International. Funeral services were held 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, August 4, 2024, from Hopewell Baptist Church, Adams Run.   The Reverend Naveen Balakrishnan officiated.  Interment with military honors followed in the churchyard.   Arrangements By: The Brice W.
