Mr. Gerald Lucas Beach, Jr., 79, of Walterboro, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, July 2, 2024, at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.  He was the husband of the late Mrs. Pearl DeWitt Beach.  Born October 17, 1944 in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Gerald Lucas Beach, Sr. and the late Mary DeWitt Beach.  Gerald served our country faithfully in the United States Air Force as a mechanic during the Vietnam Era.  He was a graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel where he obtained his associates degree.  He worked a long and dedicated career of almost forty years at Walterboro Ford Motor Sales, where he retired as a service manager and was well known by the locals of a community he dearly loved.  Gerald was never one to sit idle, and following his retirement, he began to work for the Colleton County Sheriff’s Department and for the past almost twenty years has worked in court security at the Colleton County Court House.    He was a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Walterboro where he served on the Usher Board.   He will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated family man.  He enjoyed trips to the Great Smokey Mountains, gardening, and working on cars.  Surviving are: a son, Gerald Lucas Beach, III and his wife Casey of Walterboro; a daughter, Tammy Beach Crosby and her husband Donald of Walterboro; and a sister, Jane Beach Crosby and her husband Jimmy of Walterboro.  There are five grandchildren, Devin Tyler Crosby, Caitlin Michelle Crosby, Tristin Shane Beach, Dawson Caleb Beach, and Jayden Trevor Beach; and one great grandchild, Connor Lee Crosby.   Memorial contributions may be directed in his memory to: Bethel United Methodist Church, 355 Hampton Street, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.   Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Monday morning, July 8, 2024, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.   The Reverend Dr. Scott Wachter officiated.   Interment with military honors followed in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Walterboro.   Arrangements By: The Brice W.
