Get to know #yourColletonFirefighter Joseph “Joey” Campbell on #firefighterfriday. Battalion Chief Campbell serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Colleton County Fire-Rescue. Here is more information on Battalion Chief Campbell:

Joey started volunteering for his hometown fire department, Ehrhardt Fire Department, at age sixteen. Shortly after turning eighteen, Joey decided to try something new and enrolled in EMT school. He really enjoyed fire classes, but the EMT world opened his eyes to a new passion. After completing EMT school, he eventually continued his education and became a Paramedic. He has spent the last twenty-eight years loving every second of every day. In his current role, amongst many other responsibilities, he is primarily responsible for all clinical aspects of the Fire-Rescue Department. He trains, mentors, and coaches all of #yourColletonFirefighters in any and all aspects of the job related to medical response. He is a published author for the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) on the subjects of Human Trafficking and Prehospital Blood Administration. He was instrumental in developing and implementing Fire-Rescue’s Whole Blood Administration Program and has been called on by numerous departments around the state for guidance in their own implementation. He is also responsible for managing special projects and clinical improvement initiatives for CCFR, such as the Whole Blood Program and CARE Flight.
