CMC and CCFR team up for pediatric drowning drill

Posted

Our emergency department and Colleton County Fire Rescue recently participated in a pediatric drowning drill. Why? Because drowning doesn’t always look like we would expect. It can happen in seconds. This is why we train with first responders and remain ready to respond quickly and cohesively during drowning emergencies.

If you know a kid between the ages of 5 and 11 who doesn’t know how to swim, you could potentially save their life by signing them up for the Splash into Safety Swim Program.

Back for the second year Colleton County Parks and Recreation and the Summerville YMCA have joined forces to teach drowning prevention and water safety in Walterboro. Each kid will receive 5 lessons for $5 (total).
