Mrs. Christy Crosby Worley, 44, of Smoaks, passed away Thursday evening, August 3, 2023, at Summerville Community Hospice House. Born August 18, 1978, in Charleston, she was a daughter of Debra Hudson Crosby and the late Eugene Theodore Crosby.  Christy was a Hometown Hero, a 911 dispatcher, an Angel of the Airwaves, the calm voice during the storm.  “Tango 460”, as she is known, was a dispatcher for the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office for 19 years.  She always gave 100 percent of herself to everything she did.  Christy truly cared for everyone and would do anything to help anyone that she could.  Surviving are: her wife, Consuala Worley of Smoaks; mother, Debra Crosby of Ruffin; sister, Leigh Anne Crosby and her wife Savanna Scheurer of Ruffin; nephew, Joshua Edward McIntosh; her in-laws, Ronnie and Deborah Worley of Smoaks; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Worley, Jr. of Smoaks and William Worley of Allendale; sister-in-law, Anita Rentz and her husband Marion of Ruffin; aunt, Brenda Murdaugh and her husband Walter of Canadys; uncle, Kim Hudson and his wife Peggy of Ruffin; a dear friend that she loved as a sister, Angela Stallings and her husband Marty of Green Pond; her CCSO Dispatch team; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock, Monday afternoon, August 7, 2023, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment followed in Tabor United Methodist Church Cemetery, Bells Highway, Ruffin. The family received friends for a time of visitation Sunday evening from 5 until 7 at The Brice W.
