WALTERBORO – Mr. Carl Kenneth Wilson, 84, of Walterboro, entered into rest Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the Veteran’s Victory House in Walterboro.
Born October 3, 1939, in Colleton County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Charlie Edgar Wilson and the late Effie Knowles Wilson Quinn. Carl was an entrepreneur, having over the years, operated many successful business ventures with his brother, Charlie. Together they owned the Sportsman, which was a sporting goods store, and the Miss Mickey, which was a small chain of clothing stores. Eventually, he began Carl Wilson Homes in Walterboro, which was a mobile home dealership. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He loved softball and played the game well into his 50’s. He was also a talented artist, having painted many beautiful acrylic pieces.
Surviving are: his daughter, Donna Beach of Lodge; a granddaughter, Chelci Avant and her husband Scottie; a brother, Charlie Wilson and his wife Jean of Walterboro; a niece, Toni Skpowski and her husband Louis; a nephew, Lance Wilson and his wife Jessica; two great nieces, Soleil and Pheonix; and two great nephews, Jax and Knox.
