WALTERBORO – Mr. Robert Stanley Wiggins, known by all as “Cotton”, age 74, of Walterboro, entered into rest Thursday afternoon, April 25, 2024, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. He was the husband of the late Janice Rahn Wiggins to whom he was married to for forty-seven years. Born January 9, 1950, in Colleton County, he was a son of the late Eddie Peeples Wiggins, Jr. and the late Marguerite Stone Wiggins. He was a welder having worked primarily over the years traveling for pipe welding. Cotton always possessed a strong work ethic. He was also a master fabricator and blacksmith. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and hunter. Cotton was especially talented at gigging for catfish. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, spending his mornings at Hardees, and his classic truck. He will always be remembered for always “wheeling and dealing”. Surviving are: five children, Carl Wiggins (Kathy) of Cottageville, Hammy Wiggins of Knightsville, Melissa Wiggins Delk of Ruffin, Adam Wiggins of Ashton, and Miles Wiggins (Jessica Kincaid) of Walterboro; two sisters, Elizabeth Annette Avant and Margaret Ann Butterworth; as well as fifteen grandchildren, Preston, Ashley, Emily, Preston, Jeremy, Kylie, Morgan, Cassady, Adrianna, Lillianna, Jackson, Kailei, Kadynce, Kamryn, and Abby; as well as great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, April 29, 2024, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Danny Fogle will officiate. Interment will follow in Rice Patch Christian Churchyard, 15246 Sniders Highway, Islandton. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 1 o’clock at The Brice W.
