Mr. Dylan Ryan Strickland, 24, of Smoaks, entered into rest Thursday morning, May 2, 2024, at his residence. Born September 19, 1999, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was the son of Robert Kyle Strickland and Kacee Riley Strickland.   After his High School graduation, Dylan quickly followed his passion to serve his country.  He enlisted in the United States Army, where he served as a Combat Medic Specialist 4, having seen three years of service in Germany.   Following his time in service, he enrolled and was currently a student at the University of South Carolina.   Dylan dearly loved and enjoyed traveling the world.   He had a great interest for history as well as a love for music of all genres.   He was a member of Berea Advent Christian Church in Smoaks.  He will be remembered for his loving and caring personality.  He was always full of fun and laughter and willing to do for anyone that he could, always putting his family above all else. Surviving in addition to his father Kyle and his wife Christy of Smoaks and his mother Kacee of Walterboro are: a brother, Rhett Judy of Rum Gulley; a sister, Jordan McDonald (Michael) of Islandton; paternal grandparents, Kevin and Sherry Strickland of Smoaks and John and Gail Zander of Smoaks; maternal grandparents, Suzanne and Johnnie Stone of Walterboro; maternal great grandmother, Sylvia Scoggins Carter of Walterboro; two uncles, Mason Riley of Texas and Clayton Strickland of Smoaks; an aunt, Deanna Kornahrens (Walt) of Hanahan; a nephew, Ollie; as well as a host of cousins and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael Alan Riley. The family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to:  Wounded Warrier Project, 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256. Funeral services were held 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, May 8, 2024, with military honors from the Kicklighter – Carter – Strickland Cemetery in Smoaks with The Reverend Jason Altman officiating.    Arrangements By: The Brice W.
