RAVENEL – Mrs. Dale Bethea Weatherford, 87, of Ravenel, entered into rest Thursday afternoon, October 12, 2023, at Brookdale in Charleston. She was the loving wife of sixty-eight years to the late Mr. Herbert Bryan Weatherford, II.

Born July 28, 1936, in Florence County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin Bethea and the late Frances Moo dy Bethea O’Neal. She was a longtime member of Charleston Baptist Church and had attended for many years at Edgewood Baptist Church in Walterboro. Dale centered her life around her loving family. She delighted in her grandchildren and was always focused on Christ. A talented soloist, she shared her ministry through song at events and in her church choir. She loved traveling and going to Edisto Beach. She was a longtime home sales agent of Sarah Coventry Products.

Surviving are: three children, Bonne Weatherford King and her husband Everett of Yonges Island, Herbert Bryan Weatherford and his wife Patricia of Walterboro, and Robin Weatherford Thompson and her husband Gary of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Susan K. Flowers (Scot), Laura B. King (Russell), James E. King (Tapley), Amanda W. Peeples (Jason), Matthew B. Weatherford, Kristin T. Wimpy (Josh), Gary Shay Thompson, and Cary Lee Thompson (Gloria); and fifteen great grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by an infant son, John Franklin Weatherford.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, October 17, 2023, from the graveside at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston. The Reverend Jack Moore officiating.
