Mrs. Jeanette Elane Colleton Washington, a daughter of the late Mr. Leroy Colleton and Carrie Bell Ferguson Colleton was born on March 3, 1963 in Yemassee, South Carolina. She traded time for eternity on December 23, 2023 at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina
In her formative years, Jeanette attended the public schools systems of Colleton County. While attending school, Jeanette drove school buses. She was a proud graduate of Walterboro High School Class of "82", Home of the Mighty Bulldogs. After graduation, she was employed with Dayco Products in Walterboro, South Carolina.
Later in life, she began her career as a professional truck driver. Jeanette was a faithful member of Rock of Ages CME Church, where she served under the leadership of Reverend Edward Moultrie, Sr. She served on the trust board, usher board and lay council. She loved her church and supported it in every aspect.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leroy, Sr. and Carrie Bell Colleton. Along with her two loving sons: Maurice Washington, aka Mikey, and Marcus Colleton & siblings: Mary Colleton, Leroy Colleton, Jr., Freddie Colleton, Christine Vines, Ellis Colleton, Clyde Colleton and Linda Garrett. Mr. Willie Griffin (the grandfather of Marlee)
She leaves to cherish her precious memories an adorable grand-daughter, Marlee Deasia Colleton. Her only sibling, Ada (Bruce) Grant , Devoted nieces and nephews Anthony Colleton, Stacey (Willie) Brown, Lawanda Kyles, Kyron (Priscilla) Grant, Janay (Haime) Moore, Jalese (Andrew) Jenkins, Jalette Grant, Gerrodney (Lakesha) Garrett, Tanya Paige, April (Don) Doctors. Latisha Paige, Jermale Paige ,and Ellis Colleton Jr., Other nieces and nephews: Delores, Sarah, Diane, Kathryn, Roy, Jake (Samantha). Two Sister-in- laws: Mamie Colleton, Alfredia Alexander. One brother in law: Nathan Garrett, Aunts Emma Ross, Thelma (Leroy) Jones. Just like a mother to her Mary Griffin. A special friend, Debra Suge Summers, along with host of cousins, family members and friends. A special thank you to Davetta Greene for her love and support during her final days.
