Mrs. Deborah Sparkman Walker, 68, of Walterboro, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, August 8, 2023, at her home embraced by the love of her family after a long and fearless battle against cancer.  Born March 3, 1955 in Walterboro, South Carolina, she was the only child of the late Stanley “Sparky” Sparkman and the late Ethel Britt Sparkman.  Deborah was larger than life in every sense.  Her smile brought comfort even in the hardest of days and her desire to do for others was never ending.  She centered her life around her family and made sure that each of them knew just how proud she was of them.  She loved being on the go and traveling to the beach and camping with friends.   She took pride in her home and loved birds.  A Walterboro Wildcat, she graduated from Walterboro High School - Class of 1970. Deborah retired as a Plant Clerk from Palmetto Rural Telephone Corporative, where she was an icon for nearly thirty years.  She was a member of Grace Advent Christian Church in Walterboro, where she was faithful in her attendance and active in many areas of the church’s work.  Surviving are: her husband of fifty-three years, G. Wayne Walker; two sons, Shane Walker and his wife Andrea of Rock Hill and Jesse Walker and his fiancé Cass of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Maggie Walker, Carson Walker (Josh Carter), Elise Walker, and Charlie Walker; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Eleanor Walker Moore of Walterboro; a brother-in-law, Chuck Walker of Walterboro; and a sister-in-law, Sherri Walker Ely and her husband Gary of Summerville.  She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Ted Walker; and her sister-in-law, Rosalind Martin Walker.   The family has suggested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to:  Grace Advent Christian Church, 398 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488; or to the charity of one’s own choosing.  The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Amedisys Hospice for the love, care, and support they received during Deborah’s illness, especially to nurse Heather Delong who each day went above and beyond.  Funeral services were held 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, August 12, 2023, from Grace Advent Christian Church, 398 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.   The Reverend Wayne Lucas officiated.   A private interment was held in Live Oak Cemetery in Walterboro.  Arrangements by:  The Brice W.
