The Kindness of God

Posted

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Romans 2:4

God has been so kind to us. God gave us this life and allowed us to experience the joys of friendship, family, beauty, music, love, and laughter. God has given us every ability we have, even the abilities we take for granted. God has given us the air we breathe, although we have sometimes used that air to speak negatively about God. At our lowest most disrespectful moment where we turned our back on God and rejected His love, He was still patient with us, offering us forgiveness if we would repent.

No one has loved you more than God has. No one has treated you better. No one has been more patient. No one is more forgiving. Would you acknowledge that God has been kind to you? Even in life’s most difficult moments, we can still see the blessings of God on our lives. Begin by thanking God for His goodness, kindness, and generosity. Thank Him for His hand on your life that has preserved your life until this day. Realize that God loves you and wants to embrace you as His child. Ask God to forgive you of your sins and make you right with Him.

Heavenly Father, please help me to see how You have been kind to me. Soften my heart to You. Forgive me for feeling like You were something You are not. I want to be more aware of Your love for me. Thank You for the way you have provided for me and protected me. Thank You for being patient with me through the years. I don’t understand why You do everything You do, but I’m learning to trust You. I surrender my life to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
