Mrs. Tammara Kay French, wife of the late John Richard French Sr., passed away Monday evening, May 31, 2021 at Roper Hospital in Charleston.  She was 58.

Tammara was born August 14, 1962, a daughter of the late Raymond Leo Schmitt and Juanita Stepp Schmitt.  As the daughter of a career Coast Guardsman, she was able to live in many different areas of the country and experience different customs and traditions of the communities of ports all across the United States. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister and loved crocheting and reading.  

She is survived by five children:  April Hiers, Keith Hiers, Kimberly Dye (Wesley), and Raymond French (Victoria) all of Walterboro, and John French Jr. of Orangeburg.  There are six siblings:  Stephen Schmidt of Walterboro, Teresa Kranendonk of Utah, Marlene Hopkins, Timothy Schmidt,and Dennis Schmidt of Walterboro, and Candase Toft of Oklahoma.  There are ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  

The family received friends during a time of visitation and celebration of her life Friday evening, June 4, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro.
