Virginia Stanfield, 90, of Cottageville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest October 12, 2023 at Colleton Medical Center. She was born July 4, 1933, in Watkinsville, Georgia, to the late Wesley T. Dye and Nell Gerell Crawford Dye.

As a member of Maple Cane Baptist church, Mrs. Stanfield was dedicated and devoted to working with Meals on Wheels, WMU, and various outreach ministries within the church. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafting, sewing, and gardening. Virginia loved her flowers! She was very fond of sweets; chocolate and ice cream were her favorites. Her greatest achievement in life was her four children, but she was especially proud of returning to school to receive her GED in her late 60’s!

Virginia is survived by her four children; Herbert Ward, Jr. (Peggy), Thomas Ward (Teresa), Deborah Kladivko (Dave), and Sheryl Stanfield. In addition to her children, Virginia leaves behind multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even a few great-great-grandchildren! Her family was large, and she was loved by many.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Ralph Stanfield, and two brothers.

A memorial service was held at 4 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, October 15, 2023, at Maple Cane Baptist Church, Cottageville with Reverend Dr. David Anderson and Pastor Blake Anderson officiating.
