Senior Master Sergeant Delmas Jay Sisk, United States Air Force (Ret.), age 82, of Cottageville, entered into rest Wednesday morning, September 8, 2021, at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.

Born October 29, 1938, in Page, Virginia he was rasied in Kingsport, Tennessee and was the son of the late Arthur David Sisk and the late Cora Frances Reedy Johnson. He served our country faithfuly for twenty-six years before his retirement from the United States Air Force Reserves.  He also worked for thirty-two dedicated years at the Charleston Air Force Base in a civil service capacity where he was Chief of Pick Up and Delivery for the base’s supply center.  He attended Cottageville Baptist Church and was a member of Round Masonic Lodge No. 270 – Ancient Free Masons in Cottageville where he was a Past Master and had been serving for the past forty-three years as the Lodge’s Treasurer.  Delmas dearly loved his family, centering who he was around them.  He will always be rememebred for his love of fishing and riding bicycles with his grandsons which he cherished deeply.

Surviving are: his wife of fifty-seven years, Mrs. Mary Ruth Pye Sisk, a daughter, Nancy Sisk (Clint) of Walterboro; two grandchildren, Corey Crosby (Shayla) of Richlands, Virginia and Hunter Spires (Alana) of Williams; two special nephews, Larry and Diane Harris and their family, and Gregg and Sharon Harris and their family; and a brother-in-law, Mickey and Nancy Pye of Cottageville and their family. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Dianne Sisk. 

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Cottageville Cemetery, Post Office Box 205, Cottageville, South Carolina 29435.

Funeral services were conducted 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon, September 11, 2021, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.   The Reverend Barry Morehead officiated.  Interment with military honors followed in Cottageville Cemetery, Jacksonboro Road, Cottageville.
