Mrs. Sallie Mae Evans Craven, 97, of Walterboro, passed away Wednesday morning, December 15, 2021 at her residence.  She was the wife of the late David Craven, Jr.

Born May 30, 1924 in Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late Carlos and Charlotte Elizabeth Evans.  She retired from Smoaks Manufacturing.  Mrs. Sallie Mae loved doing embroidery and making quilts and blankets.  More than anything she loved her baby girl, Margaret, and centered her life around taking care of her. 

Surviving are: her children, Paul Craven, Judy Delisle, Vera Ketchum and her husband Doug, Sandra Kinard, and Margaret Craven; daughter-in-law, Geraldine Craven; grandchildren, Steven (Joy), Scottie (Linda), Crystal (Joe), Renee (Jamie), Cherie, Dean, Christy (Rodney), Doug, Jr., and Monica (Trent); great grandchildren, Garrett, Jordan, Josh, Brittany (Ryan), Perry, Austin, Daniel, Ethan, Jamilynn (Aaron), Rylan, Reese, Kendal, Elijah, MacKenzie, Peyton, Avery, Dylan, Bryson, Caleb (Lindsey), and Cameron; and great great grandchild, Adalyn.  She was preceded in death by her son, Billie Craven; son-in-law, Clark Kinard; daughters-in-law, Juanita S. Craven and Emily S. Craven; 1 brother; and 4 sisters.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Tamara Vanloo, Sue Chewing, Tara Moore, Patricia Lee, Amber Priester, and Amber Peck, for the love and support they have shown to Mrs. Sallie Mae.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the church of your choice. 

Graveside funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Friday morning, December 17, 2021 at Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery, Cottageville Highway, Walterboro.
