WALTERBORO – Mr. Carl Winston Robertson, 73, of Walterboro, entered into rest Sunday morning, January 28, 2024, at his residence.
Born September 22, 1950, in Jacksonville, Florida, he was a son of the late Floyd Horace Robertson and the late Grace Parnell Robertson. He proudly served in the United States Army for eighteen years and reached the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was an excellent mechanic having worked in heavy equipment and automotive. He was a member of Rock Solid Church in Walterboro. Carl loved music and playing his guitar. He was an avid fan of Nascar Motor Sports and the Dallas Cowboys Football Team. Above all, he was dedicated to his family whom he dearly loved.
Surviving are: his wife of fifty-four years, Mrs. Shirley Mae Pellum Robertson; three children, Tammy Robertson Taylor (Freddie Taylor, Jr.) of Walterboro, Christopher Robertson (Roxi White) of Smoaks, and Justin Robertson (Jasmine Robinson) of Walterboro; a brother, Horace Robertson (Gennie) of Walterboro; and a sister, Mary Grace Robertson of Walterboro. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Brenda Groves (Harold); and a brother-in-law, James Pellum. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Taylor; and two sisters, Dora R. Bair and Jeanette Mixson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday afternoon, February 3, 2024, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
