WALTERBORO:     Sarah Perry Ramsey passed away peacefully at Pruitt Healthcare Center in Walterboro Saturday afternoon, May 6, 2023 after a period of declining health.  She was 85. Sarah was born in Walterboro January 20, 1938 a daughter of the late Marcus A. Perry and Thelma Guess Perry.  She was a Registered Nurse, and spent her career compassionately caring for patients at the the Colleton Medical Center.  She was beloved by those she served, as well as by those she worked with over the years.  Sarah was a lifelong member of the Cottageville United Methodist Church, and was a devoted mother and grandmother.   She is survived by her sons Jimmie VonLehe Ramsey Jr. (Susan) and Perry Thurmond Ramsey (Jana).  She leaves behind her grandchildren Jennifer Mixson (Vince), Ashley Ramsey (Andrew), Marcus Ramsey, Kevin Riley (Jessica) and Rachel Williams. There are nine great-grandchildren:  Bailee, Braelyn, Landon, Addison, Cooper, Emeline, Lanie, Riley and Alivia. She is survived by the father of her sons, Jimmy Ramsey Sr. (Ruth), by a special friend Esther Daniels, and by several special nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her very special friends Jennie Lee Bridge, Evelyn Newcomer, and Barbara Walters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, May 9, 2023 at 2:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Cottageville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends during a time of visitation beginning at 1:00.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cottageville United Methodist Church, 44 Pierce Road, Cottageville, SC  29435.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
