JACKSONBORO: Mrs. Barbara Smoak Pearce, 67, wife of Robert “Bob” Pearce, entered into eternal rest on March 6, 2024 at the Colleton Medical Center after a short illness.
Barbara was born May 10, 1956 in Walterboro, a daughter of the late Harvey Clifton Smoak and the late Jessie Davis Smoak. Barbara was an admired office manager of Morrison Veterinary Clinic for over twenty years prior to her retirement to take care of her late mother. She was overjoyed to be a part of the organization and opening of Shepherd’s Care Veterinary Clinic, established by her longtime friend and employer Dr. Rebecca Hughes. Barbara was a lifelong member of Jacksonboro Baptist Church. She demonstrated her faith through her acts of service and kindness to her family, community and church. She will be greatly missed by all of those who loved her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister, Jennifer Davis of Jacksonboro, her son Michael Wilson (Natalie), her daughter Julie Dantzler (Kenny), and her step-son Andy Pearce, all of Walterboro. There are six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, March 10, 2024 at 2:00 in the Jacksonboro Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 in the church sanctuary. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
