Homer was fondly known as “Hammer” or “Pop” by his family and friends. He was a devoted worker for SCE&G, and was known as a jokester…as well as their faithful cook.  When not working, he spent many hours on his farm, or in his kitchen preparing his faithful Sunday lunch for as many as 25 people. Everyone raved over his bar-b-q, pit-cooked chicken, perlo, and his hash and rice. The greatest joy of his life was his grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Monday morning, March 4, 2024 at 11:00 at Rice Patch Christian Church in Islandton.
