David Stanly Miller was born December 23, 1945 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 25, 2023.  David was the oldest son of Paul Lafayette and Olive May Price Miller. He was born at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. After his father’s retirement from the Navy, his family settled in Columbia, S.C., where David graduated from Eau Claire High School. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Navy and proudly served aboard the U.S.S Columbus. Upon the completion of his military service, he began a long career with Diebold, Inc. until he retired to enjoy hunting, saltwater fishing and riding his motorcycle.  David will be remembered for his kind spirit and hearty laugh, his love of the Lord, family and friends. David was preceded by his parents, his brother Rodman, nephew Scotty Miller and by Mary Wise Blanton. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Breland Miller, his son Richard “Ric” Miller, Bonnie’s son, Scott Rizer and his wife Scarlett, daughter Amanda Lyons, grandchildren Brianna, Davey and Michelle Miller; Dalton, Austin and Madison Lyons; Hunter, Kennedy and Kelsey Rizer. Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers Alan, Daryl, Gurney, Glen and Reginald, sisters-in-law Katie, Debbie, Becky and Marian Miller, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 29th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Carter’s Ford Baptist Church in Lodge, SC.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 in the church sanctuary, with burial following at Breland Family Cemetery in Ruffin. David was a faithful member and deacon of Carter’s Ford Baptist Church, and the family requests that memorials be made to the church c/o Elaine Bishop, PO Box 14, Lodge, S.C. 29082.
