Margaret Wilson McQueen, 68, of Yemassee, entered into her eternal rest Thursday morning, October 26, 2023, at her home.  She was the widow of Michael Keith McQueen.
Born August 31, 1955, in Ware Shoals, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Wilson, Sr. and Bernice Williams Wilson.  Margaret was a graduate of Ware Shoals High School and Lander University with a Bachelors Degree in Early Education.
Margaret is remembered as a loving wife, mother, friend and educator.  She spent 30 years in the Colleton County School District, where she dearly loved and trained the minds of many young children, wanting each one of them to be successful.  After her retirement, she worked an additional seven years as a Principal of Education with Allendale Correctional Institution.  Again, she dedicated her life and skills as an educator to help others learn.
Margaret had a love of books and enjoyed reading in her spare time.  She was a hard worker, knowing and doing what needed to be done. She also knew how to relax.  Margaret never met a stranger, was full of wisdom, and will always be remembered for her kindness.
Surviving are: her son, Michael Keith McQueen, II of Yemassee; her brothers, William C. Wilson, Jr., and Michael E. Wilson (Laura); her sister, Terri Johnson (Robert); and her niece, Leandra Landers (Matthew).
Funeral services were held 2 o’clock, Friday, November 3, 2023, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment followed in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
The family received friends for a time of visitation Thursday evening from 6PM until 8PM at The Brice W. Herndon And Sons Funeral Homes And Crematory, Walterboro Chapel, 1193 Bells Hwy, Walterboro, SC, 29488. Visit the guestbook online at: www.briceherndonfuneralhome.com.
