Rhonda Valentine DuBoise McDonald, 58, of Florence, entered into eternal rest Thursday, February 1, 2024, at McLeod Medical Center.
Born January 26, 1966, in Orangeburg, she was a daughter of Dee Anne Valentine DuBoise and the late Reverend Ronald “Franchie” DuBoise, Sr. She earned her Bachelor of Science at Charleston Southern University and then her Master’s Degree in Education from Liberty University. She began her working career at Chem Nuclear in Barnwell, where she met her husband. After they married, Rhonda joined John in Hartsville, where she was a Biologist with Roche Carolina, Inc. Later, they moved to Florence, and she began teaching with Florence School District 1 where she taught at Sneed Middle School and was currently teaching eighth grade science at South Side Middle School.
Surviving are: her husband of 29 years, John William McDonald, Jr. of Florence; her mother, Dee Anne Valentine DuBoise of Ruffin; son, Joshua William McDonald (Bella) of Florence; siblings, Wanda “Dee Dee” DuBoise of Walterboro, Paige DuBoise of Johns Island, Ron DuBoise (Brandy) of Ruffin, and Hope DuBoise Marini (Mark) of Jacksonville, Florida; sister-in-law, Sharon Platt of Denmark; nieces and nephews, Carl Williams, Jr., Brittany Machajewski, Brandon DuBoise, Elaina Marini, Emma Marini, Aaron Marini, Amber McDonald Davis, and Leslie Platt; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Funeral services were conducted 11 o’clock Monday morning, February 5, 2024, from Faith – Walterboro. Interment followed in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, Walterboro.
