SHELDON:     Mrs. Delores Anne Seigler McCord, wife of the late T. Wallace McCord, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, August 10, 2023 under hospice care with her family by her side.  She was 91. Mrs. McCord was born in McClellanville, SC January 2, 1932 a daughter of the late 
D. Kistler Seigler and Zelma Geiger Seigler.  She graduated from Walterboro High School, and attended the College of Charleston.  She retired after twenty-five years of service as a supervisor at J.P. Stevens, and also owned and operated the Ivanhoe Hallmark Shop.  After she and her husband retired to the Sheldon community, she transferred her lifelong membership at the First Baptist Church of Walterboro to Sheldon Baptist Church, where she was an active and faithful member until her death.  Mrs. McCord was an avid reader since childhood, and enjoyed her book club, her bible study group, and her garden club.  She was a gracious hostess and was always cooking delicious meals for the frequent guests in her home.   She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Anne “Cindy” Nettles and her husband Ronald A. “Ronnie” Nettles Sr. of Walterboro, and Jane Hollis “Holli” Glenn and her husband Dr. Robert B. “Buzz” Glenn of Sheldon. There are three grandchildren, Kristen N. Moran (Norm), Ronald A. “Andy” Nettles Jr., and Thomas Franklin “Frankie” Nettles. There are seven great-grandchildren:  Trey, Ryan, Rylee, Matigan, and Jessyka Nettles, and Valerie and Max Moran.  Mrs. McCord leaves behind her brother Donald K. Seigler, and a host of loving extended family.   In addition to her husband, whom she was married to for fifty-eight years at the time of his passing in 2009, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter and an infant son, her sister Hazel Seigler Maddox, her sister-in-law Mary McCord, and her brother-in-law Henry Grady “Bill” McCord Jr.  The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Amedisys Hospice for the love, care and support they received during Delores’s illness and passing.   Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, August 13, 2023 at 2:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following in the Live Oak Cemetery.  The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 in the chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sheldon Baptist Church, P.O.Box 37, Sheldon, SC 29941, or to the charity of one’s choice.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro in in charge of arrangements.
