Maryann Sessions Sparrow, 83, of Walterboro, SC passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 after a long and difficult battle with COPD.
Maryann was born on November 8, 1937 in Loris, SC to William Jackson Sessions (Willie) and Mary Ann Stevens Sessions (Sissie) and one brother, Jessie Franklin Sessions (JF). She was the loving wife of Roderick Kinney Sparrow Jr. and one grandchild, Miranda Lynn Coleman, which all were predeceased at the time of her death.
She retired from the SCDMV based in Conway, South Carolina as a license examiner after many years of service. She was a member of the Loris First Presbyterian Church and the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Walterboro where she served as an Elder, Treasurer.
Loved by her two daughters Maryann Sparrow Bird (Danny) of Walterboro, SC and Cricket Sparrow Harris (Greg) of Blythewood, SC.
She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren . Grand children include Greg (Columbia), Rachel (Harrogate, TN) and Madison (Boone, NC) and great grandchildren Makala Coleman (Nichols, SC) , Aiden Harris (Columbia,SC) , Bentley and Carleigh Harris (West Columbia, SC) as well as her cat who was her constant and loving companion, Breezy.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that love offerings be made to either the Loris First Presbyterian Church, Post Office Box 425, Loris, South Carolina 29569; or to, Bethel Presbyterian Church, 403 Church Street, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488 in her memory.
Due to COVID restrictions, the family will not receive guests and a private memorial service will be held.
