Local children assaulted in alleged rape cases

Investigators with the Walterboro Police Department are researching two separate cases of reported criminal sexual abuse that occurred against children in Colleton County.

Both of these cases were reported to authorities last week. The cases are not connected and are part of separate and ongoing investigations, which means that details on the cases cannot be provided by local authorities.

According to Walterboro Police Department incident reports, the first alleged case was reported to the Walterboro Police Department on May 25th. In this case, the abuse is an alleged rape that occurred in a Walterboro-area residence. The victim is a 13-year-old boy.

The alleged suspect is a 22-year-old Walterboro woman.

This newspaper will not disclose the address of this alleged incident and details of the case to protect the identity of the alleged victim.

The second alleged incident was reported to local authorities on May 21st. This incident allegedly involves Criminal Sexual Conduct toward a 9-year-old girl. The suspect in this case is a 41-year-old Walterboro man. A 44-year-old Walterboro woman is also listed as an alleged offender.
