Walterboro has 2 Shootings in 3 days

Law enforcement and Colleton County Fire-Rescue were a busy handling a pair of shooting in Walterboro.

The first shooting occurred on Proctor Street where an adult male received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm Saturday afternoon March 16th. The incident occurred at an apartment in the 1000 block of Proctor Street during a suspected domestic dispute. County Sheriff’s Deputies and City Police quickly secured the scene. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the man, then transported him to Colleton Medical Center. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. 

The second shooting occurred on March 18 when an adult male was critically injured after he was shot in the neck on Rivers Street. The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office and Walterboro City Police secured the scene. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the man, then transported him to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter to be flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and apprehend a suspect shortly after the incident occurred.

Both shootings are still under investigation by the Colleton County Sheriff’s Department.
