Mr. James W. Williams, Sr., known by many as “Jimmy”, age 77, of Lodge, entered into rest Saturday evening, July 2, 2022, at his beloved waterfront home in Jacksonboro, South Carolina.
Born August 23, 1944, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Jacob Wallace Williams and the late Lucille Norris Williams. In 1970, Jimmy, along with his wife, purchased the iconic N & W Grocery at Stephens Cross Roads in Lodge and operated it successfully for many years. He along with his sons, owned and operated Williams Farms which has operations in South Carolina and Florida. He was a member of Carter’s Ford Baptist Church and Hope Masonic Lodge, No 122 – Ancient Free Masons.
Surviving are: his wife of fifty-seven years, Mrs. Faye Cook Williams; three sons, James W. Williams, Jr., and his wife Lisa, Mark Williams and his wife Lynn, and William Anthony Williams and his wife Nicki all of Lodge; five grandchildren, Jose Cisneros, William “Will” Hall and his wife Blair, William Anthony Williams, Jr., Storm Rogers, and Summer Evans and her husband Justin; four brothers, Owen Williams and his wife Peggy of Islandton, David Williams of Columbia, Norris Williams of Miley, and Larry Williams and his wife Sally of Islandton, Nancy Akers and her husband Robert of Virginia and Janet Jarrell and her husband B.L. of Nixville; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will forever be grateful to his devoted caregivers, Bernice, Oretha, and Madeline.
Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to: Carter’s Ford Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Post Office Box 1, Lodge, South Carolina 29082.
The Relatives and Friends of Mr. James W. Williams, Sr. are invited to attended his funeral services which will be conducted at 11 o’clock Thursday morning, July 7, 2022, from Carter’s Ford Baptist Church, 6581 Lodge Highway, Lodge. The Reverend Dr. Robert Craven and The Reverend Spencer Brothersom officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard.
