Mrs. Carol Ann Gretsch, age 75, of Walterboro, lovingly known as Grandma or “Gigi” by her great-grandchildren, passed away on September 25, 2024 at her home in the Forest Hills Subdivision of Walterboro. She was born May 6, 1949, to the late Albert and Shirley Augustine. Carol was a beloved mother, a loving sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-nine years, Mr. Gerald Gretsch; her daughters, Dawn Hart (Alvin) and Mary Taunton; her siblings, Albert, Donna, Russell (Kathy), Mikey, Norma, and Gina; her grandchildren, Chelsea, Kristian (DJ), Curtis, Cody, Casey (Katie), Kaley (Shane), and Caleb—as well as her precious great-grandchildren, Blake, Zayne, Thatcher, Scotty Ann, Theodore, Brenton, Halle, Macie, Cameron, Chase, Isabella, and Hazel, her “great grand-dogter,” who she loved dog sitting for. She is reunited in heaven with her brother, Bobby; and her only son, Richard Dwayne “Richie” Bivins whom she missed dearly. Carol also leaves behind endless cherished memories with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews, and extended family. Her love will be missed but never forgotten. Those who had the blessing of knowing Carol Ann Gretsch carry with them the memories of a woman who lived life with passion, generosity, and a heart that never stopped giving. We take comfort knowing that she has made her grand entrance into the pearly gates of heaven, reuniting with those she loved and missed dearly. Rest easy, Gigi, we love you always.
