Mr. Carl Edward Firestone, Jr., 73, of Cottageville, entered into eternal rest Wednesday afternoon, October 2, 2024, at his residence. Born November 20, 1950, in Rome, Georgia, he was a son of the late Carl Edward Firestone, Sr. and Doris Harris Firestone Boykin. Carl served his country faithfully in the United States Navy as a Submariner for over 20 years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, collegiate football and DIY car repair shows. When able, he attended Maple Cane Baptist Church and also enjoyed watching services at First Baptist Church of Columbia on Sundays. Surviving are: his wife of 38 years, Dorothy Faulkner Firestone of Cottageville; brother, David Firestone of Gray, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Mary Faulkner Ferguson and her husband Henry of Cottageville, and Cheryl Marie Faulkner Holdaway of Manchester, Tennessee; and his niece, Tina Marie Ferguson of Cottageville. Funeral services were held 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, October 5, 2024, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.
