Mr. Witsell Fraser, Jr., known by all as “Buster”, age 82, of Walterboro, entered into rest Monday morning, May 29, 2023, at the Summerville Community Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.  

Born January 30, 1941, in Colleton County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Witsell Fraser, Sr.  and the late Essie Lou Evans Fraser.  Buster served in the South Carolina National Guard and was a life-long member of Evergreen Christian Church.  He was very involved with his church as an Elder, Deacon, Trustee and a Chairman of the board over several years.  Work was his life, and he was a dedicated and hard working employee for Butler L. P. Gas for sixty-three plus years.

He is survived by: Helen Hiers Butler’s children, Jerry Butler (Linda) Joe Ben Butler, Debra Butler Breland (Charles); special granddaughters, Jennifer Breland Sumner, Angella Butler Warren and Pamella Butler Brownlee; his brother, Gerald Fraser; sisters, Catherine Flader, Mae Hancock, Deloris Stevens and Florence Nettles.  He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his sweetheart and companion of many years, Helen Hiers Butler and siblings, Franklin Fraser, Fred Fraser, Frances Herndon, Martha Williams, and Gale Fraser.

Funeral service was conducted 2 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, June 3, 2023, at Evergreen Christian Church, 1701 Bells Highway, Walterboro.  Interment followed in the Evergreen Christian Church Cemetery.

The family received friends Saturday afternoon, from 1 o’clock until 2 o’clock, prior to the service.  Arrangements By: The Brice W.
