Louise Sanders Esson, affectionately known as “Weezy,” was born on November 29, 1942, to the late Janie Bell Cobbs Sanders and Burie Sanders. She transitioned from this earthly world on Friday, December 15, 2023, at the age of 81.
Louise was educated in the public schools of Colleton County. In her early years, she attended and joined Canaan Baptist Church in Round-O, SC. In 1961, she relocated to Bronx, New York to further her education. During this time, she received her Certified Nursing Assistant license and was employed with the Royal Hospital of Bronx for 34 years. Louise was united in holy matrimony on January 24, 1974 to George Esson of Jamaica, a union that lasted until his death in 2007.
In 2000, Louise was ordained as a Minister under the leadership of Reverend Harry Jenkins.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, one son Gary Sanders, siblings (Jerollus Sanders, Alex Sanders, Burie Sanders II, George Henry Sanders, Florence Sanders, Burie Sanders III, Marion Sanders, and Helen Sanders Jones).
Louise leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Timothy George Esson of Walterboro, SC and Johnathon Willington Esson of New York , one grandson Joshua Esson of Walterboro, SC, one sister and caregiver Betty Sanders Jones of Cottageville, SC, two brothers Hubert Sanders of Cottageville, SC, and Jacob Sanders of Haines City, Florida, She is survived by four sisters-in-law, Ruth Sanders of Walterboro, SC, Juanelle Anthony of Brooklyn, New York, Virgina Sanders of Miami, Florida, and Joyce Sanders of Raleigh, North Carolina. Two brothers-in-law Louie Jones and Jesse Jones of Ridgeville, SC. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Louise shared a special friendship with Margie Manigo and Ethel Bennett-Holmes both of Walterboro, SC.
