ROUND O:     Life’s journey for Jacqueline C. “Jackie” Craven, beloved wife of the late Wallace R. Craven, ended peacefully at her home on the Edisto River in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 1, 2023.  She was 83. Jackie was born in Walterboro February 29, 1940 a daughter of the late Riddick Connelly and Mary Avant Connelly. She worked in the banking business her entire adult life, and retired from Palmetto Farm Credit in Orangeburg in August of 2000.  She was a member of Providence Methodist Church, and she loved spending time outdoors with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  One of Jackie’s favorite pastimes was floating down the Edisto River with her dear friends and neighbors. Jackie is survived by her daughter Beth Ackerman, by her step-daughter Lesa Murdaugh, and by her step-son Rusty Craven (Ronda).  She was a loving grandmother to Lindsay Logan (Brian), Tanner Ackerman (Elizabeth), Laura Craven, Joshua Craven, and Samantha Murdaugh.  She leaves behind her great-grandchildren Blake, Lea, and Boone Logan, and Memphis and Letty Anne Ackerman.  She is survived by her brother Riddick “Buddy” Connelly, by her sister-in-law Phyllis Connelly, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to mention who were very dear to her and that she loved very much.  In addition to her parents and her husband, Jackie was preceded in death by her sister Betty Givens, her brother J.P. Connelly, and her granddaughter Allie Murdaugh.    During her illness and eventual passing, Jackie received excellent medical care from many individuals and organizations, and the family would like to express their appreciation to all of the following:  Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Dr. Robert Thomas, Colleton Medical Center (especially the nurses and doctors of the rehabilitation floor), and all of the health personnel of Amedysis Home Health and Amedysis Hospice.  Their compassion will never be forgotten.    A memorial service for Jackie will be held Wednesday evening, July 12, 2023 at 6:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family instead requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to either Bedon Baptist Church, 2410 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro, SC 29488 or to “In His Name Colleton”, 214 Wichman Street, Walterboro, SC  29488.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
