Ms. Celestine Gail Bunton, 64, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Saturday, October 21, 2023, at her residence. Born April 6, 1959, in Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Bunton, Sr. and Reba Crosby Bunton. She loved the Lord and loved attending church at Walterboro Church of God and Faith Baptist Church. She loved fishing in her younger years and would often take her children fishing in the swamp. She loved shopping, was always kind to everyone, and was always known as someone who would speak her mind and be a little “feisty”. Most of all she loved her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and siblings. Surviving are: her children, Crystal Gail Hiers Crosby of Early Branch and Phillip Michael Hiers of Columbia; grandchildren, Lacey Michelle Holcomb, Christina Gail Martin, Charles Allen Martin, Dustin Ryan Martin, Michael Phillip Hiers, and Alexis Hiers; great grandchildren, Ava Holcomb and Lindey Holcomb; brother, Barney Ray Bunton of Walterboro; sisters, Paulette Barnes of Walterboro, Brenda Stanfill of Round O, and Darlene Bunton of Walterboro; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband and father of her children, Joseph Charles Hiers; brothers, Robert Lee Bunton, Jr. and Calvin Bunton; and half-sister, Ann Graef. Funeral services were held 1 o’clock, Thursday afternoon, October 26, 2023, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment followed in Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery, 2410 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro. The family received friends Wednesday evening from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock at The Brice W.
