Jacquelin “Jackie” Benton took our Lord’s hand and followed Him home on September 25, 2023.
Jackie was born Nov 4, 1935 in Brevard County Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Marion Smith. She survived brothers Bill, “Jr” And sister Helen. She is now survived by her brother Ronald Smith.
Dec 20, 1952 Jackie married Billy Benton with whom she shared life for over 70 years and in his heart she remains. She is also lovingly remembered by her children- Stewart Michael Benton Sr. (Cathy) of Walterboro SC and Shari Benton Smith (Bill) of Waxhaw NC. She was an adored “Gram” to Sarah Elizabeth Benton of Raleigh NC, Ashley Smith Speight (Chris) of Waxhaw, NC and Dr. Stewart Michael Benton Jr. (Grace )of York, PA. Her heart delighted in her great grandson William Callahan Speight of Waxhaw NC and in anticipation of her great granddaughter of York PA.
She will also be remembered for her quiet grace by her extended family, church family and caring neighbors.
Jackie was happiest when in the kitchen preparing feasts for her family and then spending the afternoon around the family table. She most appreciated holidays and considered any time spent together as a celebration.
She loved well, consistently living out her faith and trust in Jesus for all to witness. Her heart will be with us always.
