YEMASSEE:     Mrs. Jane Rogers Bell, wife of John Larry Bell, passed away Thursday morning, June 13, 2024 at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.  She was 77. Mrs. Bell was born in Walterboro November 5, 1946, and was a daughter of the late John Iredel Rogers and Elma Sanders Rogers.  She was a graduate of Walterboro High School and a 1968 graduate of the Palmer institute of Business.  She spent her life as a homemaker…devoting her time and energy to the care of her husband and three sons, and she focused her energies on being a devoted wife and mother…and later grandmother.  Mrs. Bell was an active member of Black Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, was a GA leader, and helped with Vacation Bible School.  She had a deep love for horses, and in her earlier years was an accomplished barrel racing competitor.  Mrs. Bell was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, and enjoyed watching their games on television regularly, but the most important thing in her life was her family.  She cherished the time spent with them…especially on Sundays…when she would prepare dinner for them all to enjoy.   In addition to her husband of fifty-five years, she is survived by her three sons, Johnny Bell (Michelle), Scott Bell (Kinloch), and Travis Bell (Karmyn).  She leaves behind seven grandchildren she adored:  Lucas, Jackson, Tyler, Kayce, Langdon, Hadley and Charleigh.  She is also survived by her brother, William “Bill” Rogers Sr. (Donna).   Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, June 15, 2024 at 11:00 at the Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with burial following in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.  Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street in Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
