Dr. Milton “Jack” John Arras, age 84 of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest the evening of March 28, 2024, while surrounded by his loved ones.
Born May 20, 1939, in Greenwood, Mississippi, he was the son of the late John Arras and Frances Millette Arras. Dr. Arras received his undergraduate degree at Sewanee: The University of the South and completed his medical degree at the University of Mississippi. He began his medical residency at Stanford University, but due to the war effort, he completed his final year in Syracuse, New York. Shortly after beginning his new career as a pathologist, he was drafted into the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam era. From 1971 until 1998, he worked at the former Brunswick Memorial Hospital, now known as Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center. He later moved to Walterboro, South Carolina where he worked at Colleton Medical Center (CMC) for 24 years. During his time at CMC, he served as Chief of Staff and received the Humanitarian of the Year Award in 2020.
Jack’s hobbies included playing tennis at the Forest Hills Tennis Courts, fishing, and farming. He loved spending time with his family and pets and watching football. He was also a member of the Colleton County Historical and Preservation Society. 
Jack is survived by his children, Alston Arras of Walterboro and Erika (Ryan) Arras Horn of Walterboro; the mother of his children, Linda Bowler of Walterboro; and one grandchild, Bailey Wiggins.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Julia.

A private graveside committal was held at the Arras Farm.
