Linda Delores Yon, 77, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday evening, September 11, 2026, at Colleton Medical Center.

Linda was born March 22, 1949, at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina, and grew up in the Garco Mill Village in North Charleston. She was a hairstylist for many years, having owned and managed several salons throughout her career. Linda was an avid hunter and was especially good at bow hunting. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, crafting, cooking and preserving fruits and vegetables. She was always willing to help wherever she could and never wanted any recognition for what she did. After Hurricane Hugo, she was instrumental in getting help with food, water, and supplies for her community.

Surviving are: her companion, Darren Thornley of Walterboro; sons, Wesley Levitt and his wife Alison ofHollywood and Shawn Levitt and his wife Sally of North Charleston; grandchildren, Charles Andrew Levitt andhis wife Elizabeth, Sara Levitt LaBate and her husband Nicholas, Kearston Avery Levitt, and Cody Perry Levittand his wife Kasara; great grandchildren, Charles Kenneth Levitt, Grace Catherine Levitt, and Wyatt TaylorLaBate; brother, Percy Ray Grooms and his wife Connie of Cross; sister, Dorothy St. Cyr of Bamberg; as well asmany nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Coleen DuBois Maner; stepfather, Henry Maner; and her brothers, James Witt, Heyward Witt, David Grooms, and Joseph Grooms.

A memorial service and enshrinement was held at 10 o’clock, Saturday morning, September 19, 2026, at Glendale Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Walterboro.Arrangements By: The Brice W.
