Wesley Leland Kubik, age 24, of Islandton, the beloved son of Kevin and Julie Kubik, entered into rest Tuesday evening, September 15, 2026, surrounded by the never-failing love of his family at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston following a brief illness.
Born March 29, 2002, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was the son of Leland Kevin Kubik and Julie YvonneKubik. Following his graduation from Colleton County High School, Class of 2020, he attended Clemson University before eventually receiving his Associate's Degree from Trident Technical College. He was a maintenance technician at Bosch, Inc., where he had recently completed the apprenticeship program. He was raised in Adnah United Methodist Church in Islandton, where his family’s worship and involvement date back many years. Wesley will always be remembered for his fun-loving and outgoing personality. He was an outdoorsman and dearly loved hunting and fishing.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, Kevin and Julie, are: his maternal grandparents Charlie and DarleneMangum; his paternal grandparents Wayne and Pam Kubik; an aunt, Tina Craven (Robbie); and uncles, Andy Kubik (Valentina), Jessie Kubik (Annie), and Mathew Mangum; as well as several cousins whom he loved dearly; and a host of friends who were his family. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Clyde and Geneva Kinard, Anthony and Lucy Kubik, Leland and Ernestine Thompson, and I.P. and TrudyMangum.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to: Adnah United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 500 Adnah Church Road, Islandton, South Carolina 29929. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, September 22, 2026, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Tresco E. Shannon will be officiating. Interment will follow on the family plot at Adnah United Methodist Churchyard, 500 Adnah Church Road, Islandton. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 10 o’clock that morning at The BriceW.
