Walterboro house riddled with bullets

Deputies with the Colleton County Sheriffs’ Office were called to Bedon Road about shots being fired. When they arrived to the residence, a woman met with deputies and said she was inside her house with her children when she heard several rapid shots being fired at her home. The woman said she heard several shots hit her house.

She believes the gunfire came from a car driving by but she did not see the car, the report states. Deputies located evidence near the scene, including a .9-mm magazine that contained eight bullets found in the middle of the street in front of the house as well as 11 .233-mm shell casings. An additional .9-mm shell casing was also found on the street.

Bullet holes were found in the victim’s house. One bullet went through a window and a second and third bullet were found in the side of the house, the report states. A bullet was also found lodged in a tree in the victims’ front yard. Evidence was collected, and the case is under investigation.

Televisions stolen

A Colleton County resident called the sheriff’s office on June 21 to report that someone went into his garage and stole a television. The flat-screen is valued at $1,400, according to a Colleton County Sheriff’s Office incident report. A second television was also stolen. This television is valued at $400, the report states. There are no suspects at this time.

Domestic dispute leads

to patrol car smashing

A deputy was called to a Colleton County residence on July 25 to a civil dispute between a woman and her adult son. According to a sheriff’s office incident report, the son tried to gain entry into her house after he had been formally evicted. The deputy was also told that the man had an active warrant against him.

Deputies found the man on Cypress Pond Road. He was detained and put into the back of a patrol car.

As soon as he was put into the patrol car, the suspect started slamming his head against the metal cage on the interior of the deputy’s patrol car. He was taken to Colleton Medical Center for medical clearance before being taken to jail on the active warrant.

He is also charged with malicious injury to real property for damaging the deputy’s patrol car.

Woman caught harassing neighbor

A Colleton County resident called 911 and reported that a woman as harassing her and her children. According to a Colleton County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the female suspect slowly drives by the woman’s house several times a day, and yells at the children and the woman.

The female victim says she believes the woman is harassing her and her family because of an incident involving her dogs.

Deputies said they will begin patrolling the area more frequently.

No arrests were made.

Man treated at the scene for stabbing himself

A Walterboro man stabbed himself in the stomach three times to prove his love for a woman.

According to a Colleton County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the man stabbed himself in the stomach with a knife to prove his love for the woman after he was caught cheating.

The man was treated by firefighter-paramedics and the knife was taken into evidence.
