“This is an Exercise”

Walterboro, SC — Lowcountry Regional Airport (RBW) will conduct a full-scale emergency preparedness exercise on March 24, 2026, simulating a mock disaster scenario in coordination with local emergency responders. The exercise is scheduled to take place from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and will be held on the airport grounds. The community and nearby residents will see first responders around the airport during the event, but it is imperative the public is aware that this is just a drill. The exercise will be led by Colleton County Fire-Rescue. Members of the public and media may see unusual activity, including emergency personnel, flashing lights, and smoke. There is no cause for alarm. To ensure the safety and integrity of the exercise, the exercise will not be open to the public. The airport and runways will be temporarily closed from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for the exercise.
