Shopping with Santa’s Heroes is one of the most rewarding experiences for first responders. It allows them, with help from the community, to give back to the children of Colleton County who have faced difficult challenges this year. Children got to ride with the first responders, lights and sirens on, to Walmart where Santa arrived in the CareFlight Helicopter to greet them and help the First Responders take them shopping. First Responders from Colleton County Fire Rescue, Walterboro Police Department, Colleton County Sheriff’s Office, State and Local Agencies, and the Walterboro Fire Department met early in the morning of December 20th to kick off the festivities. The children and first responders had a great time, bought many gifts, and had a great lunch at Burger King. Shop with Santa’s Heroes is an annual event and are always accepting donations to bring joy to the Children of Colleton County during the Christmas Season.
