On Thursday, Jan. 5 the “New Year’s First Thursday Game Night” event provided the community with an evening of music, dance, games, carriage rides, shopping, food, and more.

Some of the merchants on the street stayed open for the evening and they were joined by visiting vendors for the day. There were some “Out with the old” and “In with the new” merchandise sales made available to shoppers for the event. Additionally, some door prizes, giveaways, and drawings took place at some participating merchant locations.

Food trucks offered a different selection of items to choose from to ring in the new year. While Carmines, Main Street Grille, and Castillo’s were bustling with patrons dining in for the night.

Music filled the air and games were set up for visitors to play near the mid-section of the street by the waterfall. Horse-drawn carriage riders waved while passing by. Children with balloons in hand had smiles on their faces while enjoying the evening out with their family and friends.

The event also sponsored a food drive with 135 pounds of non-perishables collected and donated to In His Name - Colleton’s emergency food pantry.

The merchants from downtown are thankful for the support the community has shown and are looking forward to seeing what may be next to come. For more information, please contact Heather Larson at (843) 635-1053 from Colleton Day Spa.
