Charles Melvin Murray, son of the late Melvin and Isadora Murray, was born on February 22, 1956, in Round O, South Carolina. He attended Snipe Elementary School and Colleton High School. At a young age, Charles became a member of Canaan Baptist Church. Charles met his wife, Rebecca Anne Johnson, in Bronx, New York, and they married, having two daughters, Rebecca and Joanne. The family later moved to Far Rockaway, New York, where Charles enjoyed the beach and fishing with friends and family. He also worked as a security officer and at Woolworth. The family then moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where Charles worked as a transporter at Duke University Hospital. He later returned to his hometown of Walterboro, South Carolina, and worked as a custodian at WHS until his health declined. Charles is survived by his wife, Rebecca Anne Murray; daughters, Rebecca Murray (Florida) and Joanne Murray (New York); two granddaughters; sisters, Shirley Houston (Southern Pines, NC) and Marie Brown (Houston, TX); brothers, Emerson Murray (Charleston, SC), Richard Murray (Bronx, NY), and James Randy Murray(Tracy Murray) of  Bear, DE; sister-in-law, Ruby Murray (Walterboro, NC); children-in-love, Daryl Johnson, David Johnson, Curtis Johnson, Denise Johnson, Deloris Johnson, Debra Turner, Danielle Johnson, and Shavonne Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-in-love, family, and friends, including his special cousin, Lilia Burgess.
