Mrs. Betty Terrell Cook, age 79, entered into eternal rest Wednesday morning, September 4, 2024, at her beloved home in Silver Hills neighborhood of Walterboro.  Born August 8, 1945, in Haw River, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John Terrell and the late Narvie Boggs Terrell.  Betty married the love of her life at a young age in 1962 and together they resided in Mebane, North Carolina before making Walterboro their home in 1983.  She was a devoted homemaker and aways gave the best she had to her husband and family.  As Bill began the family business, Cook Enterprises, in 1983, she stood beside him at the opening of their first Burger King Franchise and supported him as any dutiful wife would.   Betty was a faithful Christian believing strongly in her faith and was a member of Welch Creek Baptist Church.  She possessed a smile and personality that could light up any room.  She held her family and close circle of friends dear to her heart and will always be remembered as the beautiful person that she was, one whom dearly adored and loved animals.  Surviving are: the light and love of her life of sixty-two years, Mr. William Wilkins “Bill” Cook, Sr; two children, Kimberly Cook Stroble and her husband Curtis of Adams Run and William W. “Billy” Cook, Jr. of Walterboro; and a sister, Barbara Oldham and her husband Thomas of Forest City, North Carolina.   She is survived by five grandchildren, Melanie Bell Jarrell and her husband Cliff, Joshua R. Bell, Courtney Stroble Smoak and her husband Jamie, John Curtis Stroble and his wife Jessica, and Rose C. Preston; nine great grandchildren, Kylie M. Bell, Naomie A. Bell, Amelia E. Jarrell, Colton Stroble, Braxton Stroble, Willow Stroble, Hartley Smoak, Bennett Smoak, and Fowler Smoak; as well as a niece, Julie Spencer; and a nephew, John Oldham. The family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to the following:  Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter, 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488; or to, Welch Creek Baptist Church, 536 Welch Creek Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.  Funeral services were held 3 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, September 7, 2024, from Welch Creek Baptist Church, Walterboro.  Pastor James Baker officiated.   A private family interment was held in Hebron Churchyard in Mebane, North Carolina.  Arrangements By: The Brice W.
