Elaine Kinsey Bootle (82), beloved wife of James F. Bootle, died August 30, 2024, at Woodlawn, her home on Bootle Lane near White Hall. Born in the old Esdorn Hospital in Walterboro on January 3, 1942, she was the daughter of the late James Player and Mary Fitzsimmons Kinsey of Round O, S.C. She attended Walterboro High School in the Class of 1960. From the time she was a little girl, she was an avid animal lover, even having a special pet cemetery for the many squirrels and rabbits she raised until their deaths. As an adult, she, her husband, and son had a menagerie of animals at their country home. She raised Capuchin monkeys for years, treating them as her children. Along with horses, cats, and dogs, she nurtured deer, coons, peacocks, roosters, and chickens. Her proudest joy was celebrating the accomplishments of her son and two grandchildren in their many awards for stock car racing, off-road racing, and horse shows. She attended as many of their events as her health would allow. Surviving besides her husband of 55 years are her son Everette and daughter-in-law Nicole, grandchildren Haley (USC-Aiken), and Jeb (2024 CPA grad), sister Janis K. Blocker and brother-in-law David of Round O, two nephews and a niece, brother-in-law Jackie Bootle, nine first cousins, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, September 5, 2024 at 11:00 in the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial following at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in her memory to Friends of the Colleton County Animal Shelter (FoCCAS), 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, SC 29488.
